So, this movie was super cute AND it surprised me. The songs were MUCH better than the ones in Tangled, (although, they all pretty much sound the same and are somewhat forgettable.) My biggest gripe was that Anna was Rapunzel in a new story. And I've been tired of klutzy characters since Twilight.
That being said, I loved it. It's a huge step in the right direction. We saw it then went and pre-ordered the DVD.
I liked it way more than I expected to as well. When it started with a song, I was like "is this going to be an operetta?" Which by the way, isn't a bad thing unless you are singing things like "ok, bye." But honestly, I got used to it and I super loved the characters. Is it bad that my favorite song is sung by Anna and her evil prince? (Second favorite is "In Summer" by Olaf. He was pleasantly always funny. I thought he would be annoying, but he was always. Funny.)
ReplyDeleteI think we all thought he would be annoying. I might have liked his song best. There was one point when Anna and Elsa were in the ice castle and singing a belting duet and I started thinking, "Okay, there's too much singing in this." Which, coming from me, is very silly. But a lot of those belty songs were starting to sound the same... and it might have been a reprise... a really long reprise.
