Superheros

Yet again, I'm writing a blog post because of something someone said that annoyed me.

Yet again, I feel no inclination to prove myself to said person, but I would like to state a few facts.

That's why I give you...
Several reasons why Batman is the greatest superhero:

1. He has no super powers besides cha-ching and revenge!
2. He's dark, brooding, mysterious, tough, smart, rich....
3. He has the best villains, (apart from the Penguin, Mr. Freeze and some other dorks.)

Feel free to add on to the list I've started.

(It should be noted that "Batman and Robin" was the worst movie ever created.)

Alice in Wonderland

Let's get a few things straight.

Yesterday in class two morons behind me were discussing Alice in Wonderland... (already, not a good sign.) I didn't hear them entirely but I heard someone say, "Disney movie," in *that* tone. As if the "new" movie, WHICH IS ALSO DISNEY BY THE WAY, is somehow better than the animated classic! PSH-SHA!

The animated classic "Alice in Wonderland" is one of the greatest movies ever. I don't quote any movie as much as I quote this one... not even "Mean Girls."

The Social Network

I had my doubts about this movie. I thought, "Wow. Snore-fest 2010." However, from the very first scene I was mesmerized. The characters are so interesting and real.

What bores us about movies LIKE this is the 2 dimensional characters. This is not an issue with The Social Network.

Justin Timberlake doesn't bother me nearly as much as I'd like him to, (at least in regards to this movie.)

This movie was phenomenal. I'm inclined to say it was one of the better movies I've seen all year. It was less about "Facebook" and more about the social interactions between friends... which, I guess, IS Facebook.

A few friends of mine were saying that The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg (right) was only cast because they couldn't get Michael Cera. While I love Michael Cera, and Arrested Development, I highly doubt this is the case. Michael Cera is a lovable dork, Jesse Eisenberg played a jerky-nerd, and he played it well... really well.

Favorite quote: "It's the Winklevoss's fault!"

M Night Shyamalan

I was talking to a person in one of my classes who insisted that most M Night Shyamalan movies sucked. Now, I don't feel the need to prove anything, (especially anything film related,) to this 18 year old, but I thought I'd explain to you lovely people why M Night Shyamalan rocks.

You might not like every movie he makes, but they're deliberate, simplistic, beautiful, and above all DIFFERENT movies. I forgot who said it, but they said, "Whatever you make, make it different." Shyamalan does this. Shyamalan makes movies that are different. They are different and they are clean.

Thank you, M Night Shyamalan.

She's the Man

I should have seen this movie a long time ago.

It was FUNNY.

I hate Amanda Bynes on principle, but in this she was hilarious.

Movies in the theaters right now!

In my favorite theater in town, the current ticket price is $11.50.

This is the list of shows playing:

Eat, Pray, Love (I don't want to see it.)

The Expendables (Heard it was terrible. Not surprised.)

Inception (Saw it. Blogged it.)

Lottery Ticket (Rental at best.)

Nanny McPhee Returns (Probably a good kid movie but not something I want to dish out $11.50 for. Sorry, Emma Thompson. [But between you and me, Audrey Hepburn can't act. But nobody cares.])

The Other Guys (Saw it. Blogged it.)

Piranha 3D (Rated R.)

Salt (Saw it. Hated it. Blogged it.)

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (If I wanted to see a movie trying really hard I'd re-watch Titanic.)

The Switch (I want to see this, but it's probably terrible.)

Vampires Suck (My least favorite movie genre is made-in-3-seconds-spoofs. You'd have to pay me to see this movie.... You'd have to pay me a LOT.)

So here's a trivia question for you, which movie genre is my favorite?
